BBB's trade practices analyst, Andrew Rice, is sending out a warning about a website that appears to solicit an advance fee for a loan.
A website marketed under the name of Greenridge Brokerage was recently created and lists a business address for Chestertown on Maryland's eastern shore. As a reminder, never do business with a company that requests and up-front fee. Upon further investigation, BBB determined the site requests $440 be wired via Western Union to Ontario, Canada. A quick Google search of a testimonial pointed to another URL that had been shut down.
