Your BBB is alerting consumers to an influx of complaints lodged against Cameragiantsinc.com, a Web site that sells photography equipment.
The first consumer reports were received by BBB just weeks after the Web domain was registered on January 19, 2009. While additional complaints are pending, 25 'information only' complaints have been closed and 31 others have gone unanswered by the company. Since February, BBB has received over 1,500 consumer inquiries about Cameragiantsinc.com.
Complaints allege misleading advertising regarding camera purchases. Upon placing an order, consumers are instructed to call the business. Buyers report the business uses high pressure sales tactics to sell additional products including batteries and SD cards. Allegations stipulate Cameragiantsinc.com warns the product will either not work without the add-ons, does not include them, or claims that without the upgrade the equipment will only work for about 30 minutes.
BBB has not been able to identify the business owner and the Web site is registered through a service that shields owner contact information. The company's BBB Reliability Report can be found at www.bbb.org .
