BBB | Greater Maryland recognizes Stuart L. Berger for his dedication to BBB 's AUTO LINE program. Retired from the automobile industry since 1982, Berger operated a new car dealership for 36 years. After retirement from his own company, Berger discovered the BBB AUTO LINE program.

"He felt he could make a significant contribution to BBB and the community as a volunteer arbitrator," said Barbara Enders, director dispute resolution and trade practices for BBB | Greater Maryland. "He has done just that," Enders added.

Berger served as an arbitrator for BBB for over 25 years. In 1997, Berger was named "BBB Volunteer of the Year." Today, he is still a counselor for Service Corps of Retired Executives and has served as an orientation chairman for the organization.

Although he will no longer conduct arbitration hearings, Berger continues to support BBB dispute resolution programs. "Volunteering with BBB has given me the opportunity to help others. BBB arbitration responsibilities cannot be taken lightly," said Berger. "However, assisting businesses and consumers to find common ground and resolve different points of perspective is truly a rewarding experience."

Angie Barnett, president/CEO, BBB | Greater Maryland BBB, added, "BBB extends heartfelt appreciation for the enthusiasm and dedication shown to all parties on behalf of Stuart L. Berger. The preservation of marketplace trust has been elevated from his decades of service, his sincerity and concern for all."
