Interns from Towson University are no strangers to your BBB. Every year, a few come knocking at our door, eager and ready to learn. We’re not always sure who or what sends them our way, but we're always impressed with their hard work.

Last Fall, Dr. Shohreh Kaynama, Dean of Students, Towson University's College of Business and Economics, joined our Board of Directors. Shortly after her election, interns from Towson were no longer a coincidental reoccurence at BBB. Our partnership soon flourished into joint efforts, linking today and tomorrow's ethical business leaders.

As a spring semester project, a group of marketing students are surveying BBB’s stakeholders, to assess perceptions of the organization. Utilizing skills learned, Towson students will help BBB evaluate messaging, value propositions and opportunities.

While continuing to explore future quests with the institution, BBB discovered that our affiliation with the university precedes our current endeavors.

Board member and corporate sponsor, Bradley Callahan, President and CEO of Travel Advantage Network, received his bachelor’s degree from Towson University in 1990. Callahan was recently honored with the Alumni Association’s Spirit of the University Award. Callahan helped recruit fellow alum, Jason Goldsmith, CEO of CARCHEX in Hunt Valley for a position on BBB's Board.

Another Board member, John Von Paris, graduated from Towson in 1981. As the owner of Von Paris Moving and Storage, he has hired Towson interns who stayed long enough to earn a management position with the company. Von Paris also served on the Governor’s Work Force Investment Board with university's outgoing president, Bob Caret.

George Layfield, Chief of Staff, Injured Workers Insurance Fund, is a proud parent of two Towson graduates. He attends the university’s Economic Outlook Conference annually.

BBB staff members who studied at or graduated from Towson University include Jody Thomas, VP Communications; Aaron Litz, Dispute Resolution Specialist; Mike Kearns, Dispute Resolution Specialist/Ad Review; Lauren Kirkwood, Accredited Business Specialist and Arianne Schrodt-Tate, Operations Specialist.
