BBB's "Request a Quote" program allows potential customers to request an estimate directly from your business review.
During April 2013, we forwarded 636 e-quotes to accredited businesses in the Greater Maryland area. That’s 2,090 e-quotes so far this year! Many accredited businesses have maximized this service and won several bids by offering a timely and customer-friendly response.
Unfortunately, we are also aware that many other accredited businesses are missing out on this opportunity. A handful of potential buyers, including a BBB staffer, have reported no business response. Here's an example:
I contacted three deck repair businesses servicing my zip code via the e-mail service for each business on the BBB website. I received one reply from one business at least one full week after my inquiry. The other two businesses never replied… I won't be using the e-mail service in the future.
This consumer shared with BBB that she originally requested the quotes because the company maintained a positive record on bbb.org. Due to a lack of responses, she has moved on in her search for a deck repair company.
To ensure that your business receives its e-quotes, BBB suggests the following:
- Visit your Business Review and verify that your business is listed under the proper type of business categories.
- Add firstname.lastname@example.org to your contact list. E-quotes are forwarded from this email address.
- Call 410-400-4BBB to verify your e-quote recipient(s) that we have on file.
